Of all of my giveaways and activation events, the Chest Protector Backpack is by far my favorite. I initially came up with the idea while working for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Konica Minolta was looking to increase brand awareness and was interested in doing a promotion that focused on children. The Chest Protector Backpack was a huge success and can still be seen throughout Southern California.
Sports Illustrated took notice and I used the publicity to sell it across all of Major League Baseball and providing sponsorship activation for numerous brands, such as Smucker's & Alberstons (I also created all of the marketing collateral).
The biggest form of flattery is imitation, and this proved to be true for me as the Chest Protector Backpack was knocked-off by numerous
promotional vendors.
